Live Blogging From ZAP-Zin Advocates and Producers

Fort Mason San Francisco, Saturday January 31, 2009

I arrived around noon to the 2009 ZAP festival and found a great spot to push out a post. Wine 2.0 sponsors a section of the festival called “The Bloggers Lounge.” Today, ZAP takes over the two Fort Mason Piers, and between Festival and Herbst Pier there are over 300 wineries and thousands of Zin fanatics, navigating the massive show.

It’s just a little past noon and stained teeth are the norm. Not to many utilizing the all too familiar red keg cups as mobile spittoons, but moods are cordial and the hall is filled with bustle, commotion and loud conversations–the basic components of a good ol’ fashion wine social.

In the middle of the Festival Pavillion there is a silent auction taking place and rare verticals and large bottle formats are ripe for the bidding.

more to come after a little residual wine enters my blood stream…..
